OpenSky Terms of Use (EULA) and Community Rules
Effective October 9, 2026. By using OpenSky, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
Using OpenSky
Keep your account credentials private and use the service lawfully. Sky-event information and community sightings are informational, not guarantees or emergency guidance.
No objectionable content or abusive behavior
We do not tolerate harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, sexually explicit content, exploitation, illegal content, spam, or content that violates another person’s privacy or rights. Do not post identifying details about others without permission or knowingly submit false or deceptive reports.
Your content
You remain responsible for and retain ownership of the content you submit. Only share material you have the right to share. By submitting content, you allow OpenSky to store, display and distribute it within the service so other users can view and discuss sightings.
Reporting and moderation
Use the report flag on a sighting, video, comment or user profile to report objectionable content. Reports are sent to the OpenSky moderation team for review. We may remove violating content, restrict access, suspend or terminate abusive accounts, and review repeated or false reports.
Blocking users
Use Block user on another user’s profile or sighting to hide their sightings, videos and comments immediately from your feed and map. Blocking sends a moderation report with your reason and optional details to our team. Manage and unblock users in Settings → Blocked Users. The blocked user is not notified.
Privacy and permissions
The Privacy Policy explains how account, location and uploaded media data is handled. Device permissions support the features described in the permission prompts. Manage device permissions in your device settings.
Subscriptions and account access
Premium subscriptions are billed through your app store. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the store; deleting your OpenSky account does not cancel store billing. Restore eligible purchases in OpenSky. The app may restrict or discontinue access when these rules are violated.

For safety, account or privacy questions, use the contact links in Settings. Use in-app reporting to notify the moderation team about inappropriate content.
